The Great Ceiling Tile Project

Every time we ask this community for creative help, you deliver.
When our Technology and Marketing Specialist Bella first approached me with the idea of painting the library’s ceiling tiles, I figured, Sure, why not? The worst that could happen is we might need to purchase a few new ceiling tiles. The best that could happen is we’d have a few ceiling tiles with some cool art on them.
I was wrong. The best that could, and did, happen is that we’d end up with multiple complete rows of ceiling tiles painted with excellent art, and an energized community that had a blast creating them.
To those who painted the first few tiles in December, thank you for sharing your art and inspiring others with your creativity.
To the individuals and families who completed their tiles during January, thank you for your artistry and for turning a fun project into an abundant one.
To those who were willing to paint but literally couldn’t fit into the room, thank you for your willingness to be imaginative with us and your kindness towards others involved. (And thank you for understanding that lack of physical space continues to be the biggest problem we face in this library on a daily basis.)
The next time you’re in the library, head over to the kid and teen sections to check out the amazing art. Do I have favorite ceiling tiles? I do! Will I tell you which ones? I absolutely won’t! You’ll have to choose your own.
